01/06/17 Pro users get a sneak peak at EMiR Dashboards using Power Bi
The EMiR team welcomed Professional users to the Harborough Innovation centre for an update on development and a sneak peak of new innovation being released at this years Silverstone Open Day. Thirteen EMiR Professional users from eight companies attended from all over the country, some travelling from as far away as Devon, Kent and Tyne & Wear.
“The direction of our product is as a result of the feedback from users, their requests for new features and a drive to create software that reduces the amount of effort to process jobs from their inception to completion, so it’s really important we hold these days and invite the Professional community along.”
Gary Downes, Director of EMiR Software.
The big announcement of the day was the introduction of PowerBi Dashboards to the EMiR Module and Extension range. Power Bi is Microsoft’s latest reporting tool which allows the collation of live information from the EMiR database, the creation of reports that can be actively interrogated by the user and distributed to the desktop or mobile device of the user.
Alex Page of Mid-Kent Electrical said, “I was most impressed by the development of the dashboards which will allow us to interrogate the data and give us a better understanding and immediately improve on some areas of the business.”
The community also got the chance to see the latest version of Workshop Routing, V3, a tablet application which displays the position of all of the jobs in the workshop through receipt, inspection, quoting, repair and despatch. All new equipment received is automatically raised as a new job in EMiR with Visual Management, a dashboard that is constantly up-to-date with the latest movements.
In addition, there were 35 new features in the Basic Module, redevelopment of SOP and One-Click building, improvements in Quoting, Stock and Purchasing enhancements and Asset Management changes.
Philip Cumberland, Selwood Pump Co.
“I found the day enjoyable and useful and to be amongst other people that use the system. I took home a few tips and tricks that instantly make EMiR easier to use on a day to day basis.”
Brian Pym, WJ Mathews.
“It was interesting meeting other people doing the same thing as us, using the same software, with the same issues. Well worth the trip from Exeter!”
Mike Knowlton, Knowlton & Newman.
“I don’t normally get the time to attend events, but I have to say this was very useful.”
Paul Arnett, Harroquip.
“The awareness day was very useful as there is so much that EMiR can do for your business and you need to invest the time to learn about the system to get the most out of it.”
Of course, this is only part of the lead up to this year’s extravaganza at Silverstone on the 28th of September. The annual EMiR Open Day is when everyone, clients and prospective users get the chance to see completed work and future development plans for EMiR and it promises to be a great day out at the home of British motorsport.
