The new additions arrive just in time for the Spring Council meeting on March 15th, where the council will be focusing on the year ahead, and looking at ways in which to advance the association’s services.
David Hawley has been a part of the industry for many years, and has experience in both the repair/service industry at Deritend and Sulzer, as well as the motor manufacturing market through ABB. His role gives him an elevated view of the market from a global leading company in the motor industry.
James Stevens was made Sales Director at Preformed Windings in 2017, his ambition and global connections within the industry means he is well seated to provide direction on the rewind industry. His background in mechanical engineering at David Brown as a design engineer, and technical sales at Meltech Engineering means his technical direction is valued, while a recent MBA also gives him an acute understanding of business management.
Chris Powles, whose background is mechanical engineering, now looks after the entire electromechanical rotating repair market for Sulzer in the EMEA region. His past experience working for SPP Pumps and Sterling Fluid Systems marries the association’s mechanical capabilities with the electrical and highlights the synergy between both engineering facets. Chris’s position gives him a privileged understanding of the association’s industries and markets.
David, James and Chris join a strengthening council which also includes members from Avonmore Electrical (Ireland), Beatson’s Fans and Motors, Central Group, EMiR Software, Exalto Bearings, Fletcher Moorland, GES Group, Rotamec, Rotary Engineering, Parsons Peebles, and Quartzelec.
Gary Downes, President of the AEMT comments, “Having such respected members join the AEMT council consolidates the advances the association is making. I’m looking forward to working with them and that their involvement within the industry will further enhance the association’s influence.”
